CGS Business Summit 2026 Concludes in Chattogram Amid Focus on Next-Gen Supply Chain Innovation

From Our Staff Correspondent, CHATTOGRAM: The three-day ‘CGS Business Summit 2026’, organized at the Chittagong Club Auditorium in the port city to foster practical business acumen, mentorship, and entrepreneurial drive among youth, concludes today, Saturday (September 19). Earlier on Thursday (September 17), Mohammad Amirul Hoque, president of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry, inaugurated the summit as the chief guest.

In his inaugural address, Amirul emphasized that the Chittagong Chamber remains committed to nurturing new-generation entrepreneurs to bolster the country’s sustainable economic development. Centered on the theme “Design Your Future,” the summit focused on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and empowerment. Around 200 students from Chattogram and across Bangladesh participated in the event. Across the three days, participants engaged with more than 12 seasoned mentors, took part in four experiential workshops, networked directly with established investors, and pitched their business ideas across multiple sectors in a competition featuring a total prize pool of Tk 1 lakh.

Mohammed Almas Shimul, additional managing director of GPH Ispat, and Wasif Salam, director of Asian & DAF Group, attended the event as special guests. Rahibra Mahmud Chowdhury, principal of CGS Upper, alongside representatives and organizers from various partner institutions, was also present.

The summit’s strong emphasis on youth-driven enterprise and technology-led commercial strategy mirrors dynamic shifts in Bangladesh’s cross-border logistics landscape, exemplified by emerging ventures such as ‘Pacify’.

Addressing chronic domestic supply constraints for high-demand lifestyle products and specialized electronics, Pacify has stepped in to bridge the gap between global retail markets and Bangladeshi consumers. Through an integrated on-demand sourcing model, the platform procures authentic goods—from flagship Apple and Sony gadgets to Dyson, Nike, and Fujifilm products—directly from global commercial hubs including New York, London, and Tokyo, delivering them straight to Dhaka.

The venture significantly cuts down international delivery turnaround times. While traditional international parcel forwarding often takes between 60 to 90 days, Pacify reduces the transit window to just 3 to 4 weeks (21 to 28 days), delivering roughly three times faster. By managing foreign exchange compliance, international freight, and local customs clearances internally, it offers seamless procurement in local currency with upfront pricing.

Operating under the tagline “Hard to Find. Easy to Get.”, such initiatives demonstrate how adaptive supply chains can create tangible economic value. Industry observers note that platforms like the CGS Business Summit provide the vital mentorship and entrepreneurial foundation for young innovators to design resilient startups, drawing inspiration from modern logistics models that unlock global markets for domestic consumers.
